Making things possible in Flint.
Factory Two is a nonprofit community makerspace at 129 N. Grand Traverse St. in Flint, Michigan. We provide affordable access to professional tools, equipment, and workspace ΓÇö along with the classes and community to help members use them.
Our mission
To equip Flint community members with the tools, skills, and collaborative space they need to build things ΓÇö and to build a better city.
Our story
Factory Two was founded with a simple idea: that Flint ΓÇö a city with deep manufacturing roots and a tradition of making things ΓÇö deserved a space where that spirit could continue. A place where hobbyists, entrepreneurs, artists, and engineers could work side by side.
Since opening our doors, we've grown to support hundreds of members, hosted workshops and community events, and helped local makers launch products and businesses. Our shop includes woodworking, laser cutting, metalworking, 3D printing, electronics, textiles, and more.
We're a member-supported nonprofit. Every membership directly funds equipment maintenance, new tools, and programming that keeps the space accessible to everyone.
What we believe
Access over ownership
Professional tools and equipment should be available to anyone willing to learn how to use them safely ΓÇö not just those who can afford to own them.
Make things, learn things
Every project is a chance to build a skill. We create an environment where trying, failing, and trying again is the whole point.
Community-first
Factory Two exists because of the people in it. Members help each other, share knowledge freely, and take ownership of the space.
