LEARNING LATHE: WOOD TURNING CLASS
The Learning Lathe Wood Turning Class is a fun way to try out a wood lathe and make your first bowl with personal instruction. Completing this session is not alone enough to certify you for solo lathe use at F2, but you will almost certainly leave with a beautiful bowl of your own making. You will try out typical tools, accessories and techniques of the craft. A further skill building class will build on your experience here and lead to certification to use the lathes "solo".
Woodshop Level Two: Bandsaw Boxes
Come practice your bandsaw skills in this Level Two woodshop class- perfect for makers ready to move beyond basic cuts into creative, functional projects. Create a unique and functional one-drawer bandsaw box. You'll practice safe bandsaw techniques for cutting organic shapes, resawing, and precise interior cuts. Then assemble, sand, and finish a functional keepsake box with a smooth fitting drawer. This beginner-friendly project aims to build confidence on the bandsaw and in the woodshop while producing a beautiful piece for you to take home and show off to friends and family! All wood, PPE, and finishing supplies will be provided! Bring your own apron if desired. Woodshop safety checkout is required prior to taking this class. Some experience is helpful, but not necessary!

This class covers basic shop safety and the operations of the Equipment listed below. Equipment: Band, table & miter saws, jointer, planer, spindle & disc sander, and drill press. Participants must be at least 18 years old.

We will learn the operation of F2 lathes, including safety, how to prep and mount blanks and the use of carbide scrapers. If you are a returning student we can meet you where you are at.

Turning Club
Have you taken an introductory lathe lesson at Factory Two, but want a supported space to keep building your independent turning skills? Looking for a social support time to turn with others? Have a project to finish but would feel better with someone there? Turning Club is for you! Join Jenn for the more social side of turning- with some relaxed open lathe time with your fellow makers. Come swap ideas, work on your own projects, ask questions of fellow turners as needed, and get supervised practice time under an instructor's eye to level up your skills and build confidence on the lathe. Snacks are encouraged ☺️-*keep those chips edible- not airborne, and off the equipment* The Catch? You must have already completed at least one Factory Two lathe class. Pack up your wood, ideas, and chips (the edible kind), and let’s make something awesome at Factory Two today!
